City/Suburban
Scania offers chassis for public transporters, coach companies and independent body builders. Scania buses are known for outstanding life-cycle costs, fuel economy, safety, excellent climbing and long-distance cruising abilities.
Operating Economy
Scania buses are renowned for their outstanding operating economy. Each component is engineered to heighten the performance of the vehicle and set world class standards for fuel economy, driveability, road handling, safety, reliability and uptime. Each model is customizable to ensure that owners get the best solution possible – in terms of passenger capacity, number of seats, comfort levels, and for the transport task at hand.
Directional stability, Driver Control and Safety
Since the driver is often responsible for more than 60 passengers it is of utmost importance to engineer our bus chassis to provide complete vehicle control, with a sense of consistent response and predictable vehicle behavior. Our vehicles offer good maneuverability at low speeds and good directional stability at high speeds. In order to achieve this, our chassis components are carefully selected and tuned in order to fit different customer applications.
When a bus is driven over the road, it is exposed to various disturbances, such as crosswinds and uneven surfaces. This can lead to fatigue and compromised safety if the driver needs to continually compensate. That’s why Scania buses are engineered to provide the driver with accurate feedback and an agile and predictable response to driver inputs. We achieve this with a steering system that provides excellent sensitivity and an optimized chassis setting including an anti-roll bar.
