Scania is an international company with presence in more than 100 countries and has more than 30,000 employees.

Scania is a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses as well as industrial and marine engines. It also markets and sells a broad range of service-related products and finance services.

Scania was established in 1891 and is headquartered in Sweden, about 30 km south of Stockholm. In 2007 Scania delivered 75,000 vehicles.

Scania develops, manufactures and distributes trucks with a gross vehicle wight of more than 16 tonnes intended for long distance haulage, regional and local distribution of goods as well as construction haulage.

Scania’s bus and coach range is intended for intercity traffic or for tourism.

The main production sites are located in Sweden, Holland, France and Brazil. In addition, there are assembly plants in 10 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Scania is represented in Kenya by Kenya Grange Vehicle Industries Ltd, which is the sole franchise holder for Scania trucks and buses.

In addition to the sale of both new and used Scania buses and trucks, Kenya Grange Vehicle Industries provides a complete range of back up services including dependable parts supply, comprehensive service and repair support, fleet management systems as well as driver and mechanic training.
